scBTC is the bitcoin token of Rings on Sonic, minted one for one against deposits of wrapped bitcoin that the protocol deploys into vault strategies. It is a claim on those deposits, several custody layers removed from bitcoin itself, with the yield paid to stakers rather than reflected in the token's rate.
