QLD is the ProShares Ultra QQQ, a leveraged exchange-traded fund that seeks daily results, before fees and expenses, corresponding to two times (2x) the daily performance of the Nasdaq-100 Index. Because the leverage resets daily, returns compound and can diverge substantially from 2x the index over periods longer than one day. It is a fund share, not an investment in the index constituents themselves.
